Write the prompt you meant to write

Why it matters. Most bad AI answers are bad questions. You know what you want; getting it into words precise enough for a model to act on is the actual work, and it is where the time and the tokens go.

How codi does it. codi rewrites your prompt before it runs and shows you both versions with a score, so you stop re-asking the same thing three different ways. Fewer wasted tokens, fewer wrong turns, and in coding fewer bugs, because a vague spec is what produced them.

Stop falling in love with your AI

Never explain the same context twice

Why it matters. Every long session ends the same way: the window fills, the thread resets, and you rebuild what you already established. What is lost is rarely the facts. It is the WHY, the reasoning behind decisions already made.

State the outcome, not the steps. What must be true when it is done, who it is for, and what would make it wrong. You own the goal; leave the how to the model.

You learn to question your own request

The method

Ask, do not assert. Interrogate your own request until the hidden assumption shows itself. Socrates taught by questioning, and the questions are what expose the thing you had not decided yet.

Answer three questions and the prompt you end up with is one you wrote. After a few rounds you ask them first.

Your idea meets its strongest opposite

The method

Plato, who studied under Socrates, took his teacher’s questions further. Two positions in genuine conversation, each pressed to its strongest form, arriving somewhere neither started. Later called thesis, antithesis, synthesis. Not a debate to win, a better idea to reach.

Why this matters

The LLM Social Dilemma

Every individual conversation with an AI looks helpful. The aggregate is a billion humans whose critical thinking is being quietly atrophied by a system that flatters them every time they're wrong.

Worse: when the model doesn't know an answer, it would rather invent a plausible one than admit uncertainty. Hallucinations are not a bug — they're what "be helpful" produces when it's the only training objective.
